Do I need a passport to visit Canada?
Yes you do. As of January 1 2009 everyone entering the United States and crossing a U.S. Border by air, land and sea must have a passport. We recommend that you have your passport information in order at least 60 days prior to your trip to guarantee ease of passage to and from Canada.
If you have questions about processing times, lost passports, or children listed under a guardians passport visit your local post office or passport office for quick and clear answers. There are options for individuals who are requesting a passport “last minute.” With confirmation of your reservation, you can obtain a passport quickly to ensure ease of passage back into the United States. If you are needing a passport leading up to your trip DON’T HESITATE to ask us and your local post office/passport office about your options. No one wants to miss out on a trip to Canada! |
Where can I get a fishing and/or hunting licence?
Once you are in Canada, fishing and hunting licences are available at any bait & tackle shop or most fuel stations along the road to Perrault Lake Camp. You can also purchase your fishing and hunting licences at one of our local general stores half a mile North of Perrault Lake Camp. They are capable of licensing everyone. |
What is the fishing like on Perrault Lake?
Perrault Lake is home to great fishing beginning in early spring through to the late fall. You will find Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Musky, Yellow Perch and Whitefish. Perrault Lake’s 51 miles of shoreline which holds 8100 acres of water. It offers a variety of depths and structure so you can fish all parts of the lake depending on the time of year. Take a look at the Map of Perrault Lake from the home page. A 15 – 20 minute boat ride separates you from one end of Perrault to the other. For the adventurous, you can fish several large and small lakes through scenic rivers and creeks flowing from Perrault Lake. |
Do I need a guide to fish Perrault Lake?
A guide is not necessary to catch fish on Perrault Lake. This is a great lake for fishermen or all experience levels. We provide all our fishermen with a detailed map of the lake and information on the “hot spots,” baits and the methods that are most successful at the time. Your here to catch fish so we make it a priority to find out where the fish are and what they want to eat so that you can exeprience Perrault Lake at it’s best.
If you prefer to fish with a guide we can arrange one for you. Please ask while booking your trip or give us a call a few weeks before your trip to ensure a guide is available.
Is Internet access available at Perrault Lake Camp?
YES! Perrault Lake Camp offers wireless internet to all guests. Don’t hesitate to bring your laptop if you would like to stay connected while on vacation. You can login to our wireless connection anywhere in camp. We sell a password for $10.00/cabin to access our reliable high speed wireless internet.
What can I expect in a cabin rental?
Our cabins are fully modern, they come with a full kitchen and three piece bathroom. The kitchen appliances include a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. All cookware, cooking utensiles, cutlery and dinnerware are provided for you. Garbage bags, coffee filters and toilet paper are also supplied for you.
Your bedroom will have two singles or one double/queen bed depending on the cabin. Bed linens and pillows are freshly laundered prior to your arrival. A closet (with hangers) to hang your clothing and an end table are also in your room. Electric heating and lighting run throughout the cabin.
Our cabins come with a sun deck and a charcoal or propane grill to truly enjoy the outdoors. For those rainly days or late nights, we also offer TV/VCRs in the cabin. Guests are welcome to choose from our large selection of free movies.

What does a boat rental include?
When you rent a boat at Perrault Lake Camp, a clean and regularily serviced boat and motor will be waiting for you on the dock. Fuel is included in your rental. We offer two choices for boat rentals:
1- Our standard rental is a NEW 16′ Lund SSV boat with a flat floor and can seat 2 or 3 people on Lund pedestal seats. The boat is powered by a 25 hp electric start Honda motor, they are powerful yet quiet, smooth and efficient. Your rental is equipped with all the fishing necessities; paddles, dip net, anchor, minnow bucket and approved safety kit. We ask that you please bring your own life jacket, they are required by law.
2- You have the option to upgrade to a spacious 1750 Lund Outfitter with an electric start 40 hp Honda motor, bow mounted power drive trolling motor, depth finder, livewell, pedestal seats, flat bottom floor and plenty of storage for your gear. Seats 3 adults comfortably. The upgrade is also equipped with paddles, anchor, dip net, minnow bucks, and approved safety kit. Please bring your life jacket.

What else is there to do at Perrault Lake Camp other than fishing and hunting?
For adults and kids at the camp, we offer a fire pit, beach volleyball court, basketball hoop, lawn bowling, horse shoe pits, and swimming. A large selection of movies, books and magazines are available in the office for people of all ages to enjoy.
A short walk to “the falls” is always a nice way to spend an afternoon. A day park sits alongside Perrault Falls, it’s perfect for a family hot dog roast and afternoon of exploring! The Perrault Falls are located 3/4 of a mile North of PLC. There are access points on both sides and a trail on the North side to walk from the top to the bottom of this exciting river.
Perrault Lake offers beautiful scenery and wildlife, take a trip down the Ord or Cedar rivers. Its common to see eagles, loons, ducks and geese; as well as turtles, beavers, otters, deer and moose frequent the river systems of Perrault Falls. Even the odd bear has been photographed swimming across the river.
Berry picking is a popular passtime in July and August. Perrault Falls offers delicious wild fruit. Blueberries, strawberries and raspberries by the icecream pail!
The Whiskey Jack Restaurant and Tavern is one mile South of PLC. They offer a great old school restaurant atmosphere while serving guests to the area with delicious food and a break from the kitchen.
For golfers, a 9 hole golf course is only 25 miles North of PLC in Ear Falls.
Is the water potable?
The water in your cabin comes from Perrault Lake. It is filtered and chlorinated before it reaches the cabins however, we do not submit weekly samples for testing. Therefore, we are required to post “Do not drink this water” signage on all taps used for public consumption. While most of our guests bring bottled water along we want you to know that we have never had a problem with the tap water. If you feel more comfortable drinking bottled water it is available at fuel stations and grocery stores along the way as well as in our office and at our local convenience store (only 1/2 mile away).
